How to Add a Wi-Fi Printer to a Workgroup ?

Adding a Wi-Fi printer to your workgroup can solve many problems. You do not have to configure it on each computer but can still have the advantage of printer capabilities for everyone in the network. This is useful for small business setups and larger concerns, or even for a home network with just a few computers. You can also set up a wireless network without a Wi-Fi printer in a workgroup. All you need is one computer connected to the printer

Instructions

Configure a Wi-Fi Printer

Connect the printer to your computer. Configure your printer server using the CD that came with the printer. Set up your password. Leave the default settings alone, as the manufacturer will have the optimal settings selected.

Input the IP addresses for the network (this will depend on your network). Input subnet mask and router IP address or gateway. Click "Next."

Set up a WEP (wireless security code) key if your network requires it. Install the drivers for the printer.

Conduct a test print from each computer to ensure that everything is working. Unplug the printer and place it in its permanent location.
